ABOUT TRACY FRIEND

Tracy has been composing music since she attended summer camp in the 1970s, where she experienced alternative forms of worship and discovered the power of expressing prayer through music.

Tracy has written a variety of music over the years, including composing the score for "Love in the Catskills," a musical comedy produced in Skokie, IL in 1999.

Celebrating Autumn Tracy recorded her first CD, When All is Said and Done, in 2004, and donates a portion of every sale to One Family Fund, an organization providing financial, legal and emotional assistance to victims of terrorism in Israel.

Tracy's newest release is We Choose Peace, a wonderful collection of inspirational songs on peace, prayer and possibility.  Tracy is donating a portion of every sale to organizations supporting peace in the Middle East.

For Tracy, songwriting is a spiritual journey and an opportunity to express herself through music.  Whether writing original melodies for ancient prayers or modern interpretations of biblical text, Tracy tries to connect the rich history of the words and stories to the world of today.

As Founder and Coordinator of the Midwest Singer/ Songwriter Association, Tracy brings together local artists to share their music and network with each other on a bi-monthly basis.  Contact Tracy at tracy@tracyfriendmusic.com for more information about this organization.
